Generalul american John Allen, numit comandant suprem al forţelor NATO

Generalul american John Allen a fost numit comandant suprem al forţelor NATO (SACEUR) şi va fi înlocuit la conducerea coaliţiei internaţionale din Afganistan de generalul Joseph Dunford, anunţă secretarul american al Apărării, Leon Panetta, citat de AFP, potrivit Mediafax.   Generalul Allen, care îl va înlocui pe amiralul James Stavridis în primăvara anului 2013, comandă forţa NATO din Afganistan din iulie 2011. Generalul Dunford, care îl va succeda, este în prezent comandantul unor unităţi ale Forţelor Navale americane, precizează Panetta.
